I couldn’t but felt dumb when one of my new students asked a question. “What is a digital marketing agency? What does a digital marketing agency do?”

Why was I dumb to hear this? Well, answering too obvious questions isn’t easy. 

Everyone knows what a human is. Now, if you ask me what the word human means. 

It will again be difficult for me to answer this question.  

Because everyone knows what the term human means. 

We are ourselves human. 

My new student’s question was just like this.

BTW, the term “digital marketing agency” is obvious. 

But every term should have its meaning so we can communicate that appropriately. 

So, I am gonna construct a real-life definition of the term digital marketing agency.

Let’s get to the point.

A digital marketing agency is a business that strategizes marketing campaigns and promotes products and services with the help of electronic or online media.

While answering this question, we will go through a 4-step process.

Wait. This isn’t gonna be that tedious. Let’s have simple, comprehensive definitions of all these. Read on for the weird definition below.

What is Marketing?

Marketing is the process of promoting a product or service and other activities related to it. 

What is an Agency?

An agency is a business that provides services on behalf of a person or organization.

For example, Anistom Limited is a company that sells products online. The company needs to do marketing on online media like Facebook, Google, YouTube, etc. 

Now, Anistom Limited requested BrandTOM to do their marketing activities on their behalf. 

BrandTOM attended meetings with Anistom Limited. Then they prepared plans and started to advertise on  Facebook, Google, and YouTube. 

In this case, BrandTOM is providing digital marketing services to Anistom Limited. So, Anistom is a client and BrandTOM is a digital marketing agency.
